One big war, an epidemic, and we collapse into ignorance and darkness … It’s with these words of Archil Gorky, the Armenian-American painter and pioneer of Abstract Expressionism, that I would like to introduce Atom Egoyan. Atom Egoyan is a critically acclaimed filmmaker, stage director, writer and producer. Officer of the Order of Canada, Egoyan directed twelve feature films such as Exotica (1994), The Sweet Hereafter (1997), which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Director. He has also directed several operas, including Salome, Così fan tutte, and the Ring Cycle, all at the

His most recent film, Guest of Honour, in 2019 was nominated for the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
