How do you think this program contributes to New York’s artist community?
New York City is a mecca for the arts, but has few opportunities for the actual artists producing it. This residency gives so many artists a chance to not only showcase their talents, but also to have a space to create! Not to mention almost as much as NYC is known for its art, it's also known for its lack of space. This residency solves that issue. Artists are also saddled with the high costs of paint and supplies. Having a residency that will not only compensate for time, but that also makes sure you have the tools you need to hone your craft, really makes this a “dream residency.” — ONe Rad Latina
